In fact, visitors come here not just for the beach but also to have a look at the imposing bungalows of film stars.

Chowpatty Beach is the one with larger crowds. It has a row of shops that offer some of the most delicious food and drink by way of chaats, bhelpuris, pavbhaji, vadapav and of course an assortment of kulfis and ice-creams.

Some of the other beaches, located at quite a distance, are those at Madh Island and the ones at Marve and Manori. The beach at Gorai is where the Global Vipassana Pagoda is located.
